This summer’s television and streaming lineup offers a range of returning favorites and intriguing newcomers. Among the highlights is the anticipated return of ‘Ted Lasso’ in August, featuring stars including Brendan Hunt, Jason Sudeikis, and Tanya Reynolds.
The season also marks the conclusion for series like ‘The Bear’ and introduces several new offerings. Notable returns include ‘Slow Horses’ and continuing stories from ‘Call My Agent!’ and ‘Heartstopper.’
New additions to the schedule feature a variety of genres and creative castings. The ‘Big Bang Theory’ spinoff, ‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,’ follows Stuart the comics guy in a new setting. Viewers can look forward to a comedy about an aging golfer, portrayed by Will Ferrell, titled ‘The Hawk.’ Additionally, J.K. Simmons and Titus Welliver star in a tense drama called ‘The Westies.’

- AfroPop: The documentary series returns for its 18th season despite funding challenges. The season kicks off with ‘Listen to Me,’ focusing on maternal health care for Black women, and later features ‘This World Is Not My Own’ about the artist Nellie Mae Rowe. (PBS.org, June 15)
