Taylor Swift is making headlines for various reasons, including her marriage to Travis Kelce and her latest song featured in the upcoming film “Toy Story 5.” Sharing her enthusiasm on social media, Swift expressed a deep connection to “Toy Story,” stating she has cherished the series since childhood.
Swift’s excitement was evident as she attended the movie’s premiere on June 9, bringing along her original VHS copy of the film. In a true Swift style, she asked “Toy Story” star Tom Hanks to sign her VHS tape. Hanks gladly obliged, humorously suggesting to USA Today that they should have also brought a VHS player for signing, joking about its historic value.
In an interview with Variety, Hanks revealed he was unaware of Swift’s involvement until the movie’s run was nearly complete. He recounted a surprise reveal, where they were shown the true end title song by Swift at a private viewing. The cast and crew were equally surprised, having expected a placeholder song during their initial screenings.
Hanks compared Swift’s participation to a legendary level, likening it to discovering Judy Garland was singing “Over the Rainbow” for a show. This hint of admiration reflects the significance of her contribution.
The anticipation for “Toy Story 5” continues to grow as its release date approaches on June 19.
