Cincinnati Bengals’ Ceyair Wright Departs Team for Acting Career

The Cincinnati Bengals signed Ceyair Wright, a defensive back, as an undrafted free agent in April. Wright, who played college football at Nebraska, opted to leave the team to pursue acting opportunities. The Bengals placed him on the Exempt/Left Squad list.

Dan Hoard, the Bengals’ radio announcer, confirmed Wright’s decision to explore television and film roles. Head coach Zac Taylor commented on Wright’s departure, noting, “He called us and let us know about a new opportunity. It was a hard choice for him as he had a passion for both football and acting. We wish him the best.”

Wright has notable acting credentials. He portrayed LeBron James’ son in “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” His other acting engagements include roles in “Training Day” and TV shows like “Grown-ish” and “2 Broke Girls.”

The Bengals have signed Matthew McDoom to fill Wright’s spot on the team.
