Vice President JD Vance shared his unexpected experience with the hosts of ABC’s “The View” while promoting his spiritual memoir, “Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.” Joined by the ladies of the daytime talk show, Vance expected a hostile reception but was pleasantly surprised.
“I expected them to be absolutely vicious, and they were only a little bit vicious. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be,” Vance remarked on “Gutfeld!”
During his appearance, Joy Behar offered an unexpected compliment, suggesting that Vance was “pretty good for a Republican,” which caught him off guard. Despite some tense moments, such as discussions with Whoopi Goldberg over the Trump administration’s handling of Black history exhibits, Vance engaged in debates on various topics, including immigration and inflation.
Vance reflected on his approach to the conversation, expressing optimism about engaging with individuals who hold different views. In an interview with Fox News Digital, he stated, “You ought to try to have a conversation with them,” while acknowledging his skepticism about the possibility of a mutually understanding dialogue.
