Skeletal Remains Discovered in Foreclosed Connecticut Home

A foreclosed house in Burlington, Connecticut, was the site of a grim discovery after the new owner found skeletal remains inside. Court documents revealed that the house was not inspected prior to its purchase at auction.

The new homeowner, who acquired the property in early June, alerted authorities on June 14 regarding the remains found at the home. The State Police have not yet identified the deceased individuals or determined their causes of death, but they stated there is no evidence of criminal activity. The deaths are currently thought to be isolated incidents.

The Cape Cod-style residence, constructed in 2002, went to auction on June 6. Edward Marchion purchased the property for $525,000, according to court records. Efforts to contact Mr. Marchion for a statement were unsuccessful.

Prior owners of the home, Paul and Sally Anne Cash, had secured a loan of nearly $400,000 with Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing before they lost the house to foreclosure. Mr. Marchion paid a deposit of $82,000 for the house, which was assessed at a fair market value of $820,000, as per the court documents.
