Top congressional leaders are backing a federal grand jury investigation into allegations that Neville Roy Singham committed financial crimes. This investigation is spurred by Singham’s financial support to socialist, communist, and Marxist organizations. A Fox News Digital report revealed that Singham has directed $278 million to a network of nonprofits since 2017. Acting U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche has authorized a grand jury in Manhattan to issue subpoenas in this probe. The investigation is led by U.S. Attorney Jay Clayton of the Southern District of New York, a significant region for federal prosecutions.
Singham has not responded to various attempts by Fox News Digital to obtain his comments over several months. Senator Jim Banks of Indiana labeled Singham a ‘traitor’ for his connections to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), claiming that his allegiance lies with them. According to Banks, Singham’s wealth funds not only ideologies but also violence in America.
“Neville Singham is a traitor to our country. He has ties to the CCP,” stated Senator Jim Banks, R-Indiana.
Singham was photographed smiling at his wedding to CodePink co-founder Jodie Evans in Ocho Rios, Jamaica, in February 2017. Last April, Banks called for an investigation into CodePink, a nonprofit that has received funds from Singham, co-founded by his wife, Jodie Evans. Both Evans and CodePink have not responded to multiple requests for comment.
In another development, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent met with Goldman Sachs Chairman and CEO David Solomon in New York City. According to sources, Bessent warned Solomon that Goldman Sachs could face scrutiny for potentially conspiring in funneling Singham’s money. Bessent urged Solomon to support the investigation.
A source familiar with the meeting said the discussion was cooperative, with Solomon agreeing to aid the Justice Department. A bank spokesperson stated all distributions from Singham’s donor-advised fund went to legal nonprofits as approved by the IRS, noting that the account closed in early 2024.
Senator Banks, serving on the Senate Banking Committee, expressed that while Goldman’s cooperation is promising, Wall Street should exercise caution in dealings that could support adversaries like the CCP.
“Goldman wants to help the investigation. But Wall Street must know you can’t aid enemies like the CCP.” explained Banks.
Banks also sent a letter to former Attorney General Pam Bondi, questioning if CodePink violated the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). This law requires disclosure from those acting as agents for foreign principals.
“CodePink is an agent of CCP influence. Despite activities that the New York Times acknowledges require FARA registration, the DOJ has no such registration from CodePink,” Banks wrote.
Meanwhile, Representative Pat Fallon from Texas, running for chairman of the House Oversight Committee, stated his focus would include holding nonprofits aligned with the CCP accountable if he secures the chairmanship.
“Communist groups like CodePink, funded by Singham, sow division and unrest. We must dismantle these communist NGOs,” said Fallon.
House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Jason Smith, who initiated an investigation into Singham’s nonprofit network last year, stated on social media that the grand jury probe is long overdue. Critics like Smith claim Singham has used tax-exempt status to fund disruptions nationwide.
A Fox News Digital investigation uncovered video footage of Singham advocating for a ‘new world order’ aligned with the CCP during an event in Beijing last year. Singham has reportedly funneled millions through a network of nonprofits such as People’s Forum Inc., and globally, supporting various initiatives.
