Cmdr. Gabriel Edwards remains missing following an emergency incident involving a U.S. Navy helicopter. On July 1, a helicopter from Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 5 performed an emergency landing in the Arabian Sea. While three of the helicopter’s crew were promptly rescued, Cmdr. Gabriel Edwards has not been located.
The U.S. Navy launched an extensive search to locate Cmdr. Edwards, covering an expansive area of 14,000 square miles. Multiple ships and aircraft participated in the search operation, aiming to find any trace of Edwards after the incident.
The search highlights the Navy’s commitment to bringing its personnel home, utilizing all available resources to locate Edwards amid challenging conditions.
