Chicago White Sox player Munetaka Murakami participated in his second rehabilitation game with Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday. Murakami contributed a run-scoring double in a 6-3 defeat against Nashville in Charlotte.
Murakami recorded a hit, an RBI, a walk, and a run in his 1-for-4 performance. His double to center field occurred in the first inning. During the third inning, he flew out to left field. In the sixth, he popped out to shortstop. He drew a walk in the eighth inning and scored from second base on a single. In the ninth inning, he grounded out to second base, concluding the game.
In two games with the Knights, Murakami is 2-for-7 with one RBI and one walk. Sox manager Will Venable shared optimistic feedback about Murakami’s recovery and performance following Tuesday’s game, stating that Murakami had “recovered well” and “did a good job on the field.” Murakami has been on the injured list since May 30 after suffering a right hamstring strain.
According to Venable, Murakami’s return remains evaluated on a day-to-day basis, emphasizing cautious progress as he recovers fully.
