Stefon Diggs Confident in Abilities as NFL Free Agency Looms

Former New England Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs, once an All-Pro standout from 2018 to 2023, believes he still has a lot to offer on the field. At 32, Diggs remains a free agent after parting ways with the Patriots post-Super Bowl, but he is sure of his capabilities as a strong WR2.

Diggs voiced his confidence on his YouTube channel, stating, My opinion, I can compete with anybody. But take those [top wide receivers] as your 1s, right? You can’t name a No. 2 better than me. He challenged fans to consider the best second receiver on any team and compare them to his abilities.

Last season, Diggs demonstrated his skills by recording 85 catches, 1,013 yards, and four touchdowns. This marked the seventh season he surpassed 1,000 yards and achieved 80 or more catches.

Weeks before training camp, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Diggs is garnering attention as a valuable asset. At least five teams have been checking in on Diggs nearly two weeks out from camps, Fowler noted on X. He also highlighted Diggs’ impressive performance last season despite an ACL injury.

Fowler did not disclose specific teams showing interest, but potential suitors include the Indianapolis Colts, Kansas City Chiefs, Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and Washington Commanders. Washington appears highly linked to Diggs, especially after releasing Deebo Samuel. The Commanders are seeking a reliable complement to Terry McLaurin, with Dyami Brown, Treylon Burks, and rookie Antonio Williams in the mix for the WR2 spot.
