E. Jean Carroll has received $5 million from a court judgment against former President Donald Trump. This amount was awarded more than three years after Trump was found liable for sexually abusing and defaming her, according to court documents.
The funds were held in a court escrow account and totaled $5,625,005.48 with interest. Records indicate that the money has been released to Carroll’s legal team.
The judgment comes from a 2022 lawsuit where Carroll accused Trump of sexually assaulting her in a Manhattan dressing room after a chance meeting in 1996. She also claimed he defamed her when she went public with her allegations in 2019. Trump denies knowing Carroll and maintains he did nothing wrong.
Attempts to reach attorneys for both Carroll and Trump for further comments have been made.
The situation remains ongoing. Stay tuned for more information.
