Teenage Boy’s Body Recovered from Chain O’ Lakes

A teenage boy’s body was found after he went missing in the Chain O’ Lakes area. Authorities reported receiving a call at around 6 p.m. on Monday about a missing 15-year-old who had been swimming near Fox Lake.

Friends of the boy attempted to find him but were unable to do so and contacted the authorities for help. Multiple agencies, including the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Fox Lake Fire Protection District, and Illinois Conservation Police, took part in the search effort.

According to a spokesperson from the Lake County sheriff’s office, the boy was not wearing a flotation device when he either jumped or fell from a boat into the lake. Approximately two hours after the search began, divers and an underwater drone discovered a body that is believed to be the missing teenager in Pistakee Lake, as per authorities.
