Steve Doocy, co-host of ‘Fox & Friends,’ reported live from Philadelphia’s Citizens Bank Park. He offered viewers an inside look at the MLB All-Star Fan Zone. Baseball fans shared their enthusiasm for the evening’s game with him. He also highlighted a unique Liberty Bell-inspired beer tap, reflecting the local culture and the joy of baseball.

As the 2026 MLB All-Star Game commenced, Los Angeles Angels’ outfielder Mike Trout struck out in his initial plate appearance. Despite being near his New Jersey birthplace for his 12th All-Star game, his team struggled in the standings. By the All-Star break, the Angels were last in the AL West. They haven’t seen postseason action since 2014, the longest playoff absence in the league, with the Pittsburgh Pirates following closely.

Before the All-Star Game at Citizens Bank Park, Trout spoke of his drive to challenge the doubters. “I think the fuel of people doubting us kind of makes it more of a fire for me to try to get back to the playoffs,” Trout shared with the Los Angeles Times. His ambition remains bringing the Angels back to playoff contention.

Despite the team’s struggles, questions about leaving Southern California arose. But three-time AL MVP Trout expressed loyalty to his current team. He acknowledged the possibility of leaving but emphasized his focus on improving with the Angels.

For trout to achieve playoff dreams this season, the Angels must overcome significant deficits in both the wild-card race and AL West standings. The path ahead remains challenging, requiring making up 10 games in the wildcard and an 11.5-game gap behind the Texas Rangers.

Trout’s commitment to the Angels was reinforced by his record-breaking extension signed in 2019. This contract, running through 2030, includes a no-trade clause, anchoring Trout’s future with the team. Though injuries have disrupted parts of his career, Trout continued to perform admirably, hitting 18 home runs in 78 games before the All-Star break.
