There were even whispers about the Indiana Pacers making a bid to recruit James for a championship run with Tyrese Haliburton.

Even so, other teams are contenders, and surprises are not out of the question. Alex Golden of Sports Illustrated suggested the Pacers could emerge as unexpected players in the race, with Haliburton’s role in the event sparking further speculation. However, statistically, Indiana has less than a 1% chance of acquiring James.
The potential announcement adds anticipation to Thursday’s event in New York. Haliburton’s comeback and the New York Knicks’ recent championship win in his absence further add layers to the unfolding drama.
