Ukrainian Drone Strikes Hit Russian Targets

Russian officials reported that eight people died and over 60 were injured due to Ukrainian drone attacks overnight. This latest assault on Russian soil by Kyiv aims to disrupt energy infrastructure and military objectives, impacting the ongoing conflict.

The attacks targeted significant facilities including Russia’s prominent online retailer Wildberries, with warehouses in Kotovsk and Elektrostal catching fire. The Kotovsk fire was eventually extinguished, but images showed continued burning at Elektrostal. In Noginsk, a drone hit an oil depot, leading to evacuations.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that these strategic strikes focused on logistical hubs used by Russia for manufacturing drones and navigation tools. An oil facility was also among the targets.

The warehouse strike in Kotovsk resulted in the deaths of seven night shift workers, injuring 25 others. In the Moscow region, Vorobyov reported 37 injured individuals, with one later succumbing to their injuries. In Elektrostal, debris affected a kindergarten, causing a fire that was controlled.

In Vladimir, a drone hit a residential building, triggering a temporary fire without causing injuries. Ukrainian operations also targeted the Sea of Azov and occupied territories.

The Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have intercepted 379 Ukrainian drones overnight across 19 regions, including Crimea and both Azov and Black Seas.
