Country music star Carly Pearce recently shared her personal decision regarding motherhood, revealing that having children is not part of her plans. On TikTok, Pearce addressed a fan’s question about her thoughts on parenting and remarriage. Pearce was previously married to singer Michael Ray, with their marriage ending in divorce in 2020 after one year.
Speaking candidly, Pearce, 36, expressed that while she loves children, being a parent was never her aspiration. She stated, “I always feel bad saying that I don’t want children. I love children, I love my friends’ children, and I’m a great aunt. But, it was never my dream.” Pearce’s focus remains on her career in country music and touring.
Pearce also voiced her belief in normalizing the decision not to have children. She remarked, “I think we should normalize people that truly know they don’t wanna have kids. I don’t think it should be for everyone just because society tells us to. So, I don’t want children and I’m totally okay with that.”
When asked about marriage, Pearce conveyed her openness to remarrying. She expressed optimism about future relationships, saying, “So what I was divorced. It was my start-up marriage and now I get to have the real one.”
