Le Batard’s comments also targeted OutKick, accusing them of biased reporting. This follows OutKick’s announcement about Clark’s departure before it became public.
OutKick claims that ESPN, in a hurry, pulled Clark off air during a commercial break and gave the story to The Athletic to preempt OutKick’s scoop. Le Batard has been vocal, arguing that the reduction of Black journalists at ESPN points to the network’s alleged shift away from diversity.
Disney and ESPN somehow keep getting called too woke. All the journalists are out the door now. All of the Black people, or almost all of the Black people who were actually going to say things that Black people agree with strongly, all of them are gone too.
Le Batard suggested that ESPN is now dominated by white personalities, asserting that minority voices are being sidelined. He criticized OutKick for its role in revealing Clark’s exit and accused them of being a dishonest media entity. However, he did not provide evidence for his claims against OutKick.
OutKick’s reaction emphasized their stance against mainstream sports media, defending their approach to covering sports and cultural discussions. They argued that their platform encourages diverse viewpoints and challenges prevailing media narratives.
