The cyclospora outbreak has captured widespread attention, rivaling interest in the ongoing conflict with Iran. Those closely monitoring the cyclospora news are significantly reducing their produce intake.

Opinions about the Food and Drug Administration’s capability to manage the outbreak are varied. While more people express confidence than doubt in the agency, few have a strong sense of trust. Political affiliations influence these perceptions, with Republicans showing more confidence in the FDA than Democrats.

The CBS News/YouGov survey included a sample of 2,193 U.S. adults, interviewed between July 22-24, 2026. To ensure national representation, the sample was weighted based on gender, age, race, education, and voting patterns aligned with U.S. Census and other surveys. The margin of error for this survey is ±2.7 points.
