Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy recently spoke to Fox News, highlighting significant changes in the war effort against Russia. In an interview with Sean Hannity, Zelenskyy asserted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has lost the strategic advantage.
Zelenskyy attended the funeral of Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., a notable supporter of Ukraine. He reflected on Graham’s impact while discussing the war’s status and potential peace talks.
“Since the beginning of the war, when Putin said that he will occupy us during two, three days, now we build a great mil-tech industry,” Zelenskyy stated. “We have 500 companies with very strong technologies.”
Zelenskyy explained that the conflict has turned into a technological contest. Strategies must adapt quickly as weapons, including drones, become outdated.
“We understand that this war is changing each three, six months,” he said. “We have to change technologies.”
Zelenskyy emphasized the importance of speed, stating, “We have to be quicker than Putin because Putin has more people… and we have to save our people and use more technologies than [their] people.”
Serious advancements in Ukrainian military capabilities have allowed strikes deep within Russian territories. Hannity noted Ukrainian attacks beyond Moscow and incidents affecting the power grid in Russian-occupied Crimea. Zelenskyy suggested these developments have shifted momentum away from Moscow.
“Putin is losing 30,000 soldiers per month,” said Zelenskyy. Despite significant Russian losses, Putin remains uninterested in ending the war.
Efforts to establish a ceasefire continue, with Zelenskyy stating, “We are asking to stop this war each day… to negotiate [a] ceasefire for some period of time and give possibility for diplomats to negotiate.” However, he noted that Putin does not want to engage in such discussions.
The interview also covered Senator Lindsey Graham’s dedication to Ukraine. Zelenskyy praised Graham as a staunch supporter, noting that Graham had visited Ukraine numerous times since the full-scale invasion began.
“A lot of things have been changed because of such people like Lindsey,” said Zelenskyy, highlighting the senator’s belief in Ukraine’s resilience against Russian occupation.
Zelenskyy also acknowledged The Lindsey O. Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act of 2026. Passed by the Senate with a bipartisan vote of 86–12, the legislation imposes comprehensive sanctions on those aiding Russia’s military actions against Ukraine.
Earlier, Zelenskyy met with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House. The discussion focused on strengthening defense cooperation. Zelenskyy revealed that Trump agreed to allow Ukraine to produce American-designed patriot missiles domestically.
Trump shared that the meeting “went very well.”
