Edible Candles Bring a New Twist to Dining Experiences

A South Florida entrepreneur is taking a novel approach to dining with the introduction of edible candles. Claudia Mosley, founder of CeraViva, is transforming mealtime with these innovative creations.

Edible Candle Concept

Mosley has crafted handmade candles that melt into warm dipping sauces and dessert spreads. This concept adds a unique dimension to ordinary meals. Mosley explains, “The product is the experience that you’re giving your guests, not just the candle itself.”

Variety of Flavors

These candles are made with organic, premium ingredients and cater to a range of tastes. They come in savory flavors like chimichurri, shrimp scampi, and parmesan cream. Sweet options include raspberry cream, apple pie, and Key lime pie. Importantly, the sweet varieties contain no added sugar, delivering a balanced taste.

Encouraging Connection

Mosley aims to promote quality time around the dinner table. She encourages people to set aside their phones and engage in conversation. The candles serve more than culinary purposes. Each one is designed to be a part of the dining experience, fostering connection and interaction.

Mosley’s Entrepreneurial Journey

Born in Colombia, Mosley immigrated to the United States in her teens. She previously succeeded in building a merchant services company with her identical twin sister. Her latest venture, CeraViva, is backed by a $20,000 investment. Mosley moved production into a commercial kitchen, acquired necessary licenses, and developed a patented formula for her candles.

Market Ambitions

CeraViva sells its candles online for $38 each. Mosley aspires to see them featured on restaurant tables. She envisions these candles as appetizers, melting into dipping sauces during conversations. Each candle requires 20 to 25 minutes to achieve the desired consistency.

Mosley is confident that her edible candles can offer a memorable dining experience. Her goal is to encourage meaningful family interactions that extend beyond the meal itself.

Whether this dining trend takes off widely is uncertain. However, Mosley is committed to recreating the simple act of bringing families together around the table.
