An allegedly intoxicated passenger on a Carnival cruise ship was accused of attacking two children playing tag onboard. The incident led to the passenger being confined to his cabin for the rest of the voyage.
David Lawrence Crosby II, aged 44 from Surrency, Georgia, was arrested on July 27 on charges of child abuse. The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office recorded his arrest.
On July 26, Crosby allegedly ran down a hallway on the Carnival Glory—known for cruising from Port Canaveral, Florida, to the Bahamas. According to a probable cause affidavit, he encountered three children playing tag and hit one child in the face, causing a bloody lip and head pain. He then allegedly struck a second child in the stomach.
The incident involving David Lawrence Crosby occurred on the Carnival Glory, resulting in his arrest on child abuse charges.

The incident was captured on the ship’s security camera. When apprehended by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, Crosby admitted to being “heavily intoxicated” and claimed he could not remember the event.
Carnival Cruise Line responded promptly to the situation. A Carnival spokesperson stated, “Our security team responded immediately to an incident involving an intoxicated guest aboard Carnival Glory on July 26.” The affected ship was docked at the Port of Miami on March 9, 2014, during the time of Crosby’s alleged actions.
The guest was confined to his cabin for the remainder of the voyage, referred to local law enforcement upon arrival in Port Canaveral, assessed a code of conduct violation fee, and placed on our Do Not Sail list. We have zero tolerance for this type of behavior.
Crosby secured a release from jail on the following Tuesday by posting a $10,000 bond for each count, amounting to $20,000. Court records indicate he pleaded not guilty when he appeared in court Wednesday and is set for arraignment on August 25.
Carnival Glory was docked in Cozumel, Mexico, on December 21, 2023. Carnival did not provide further information immediately. Attempts to contact the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office, public defender’s office, and a Georgia-based business connected to Crosby were unsuccessful. The business remained closed due to a “family emergency”.
