Tyler Wilkin, 35, was found dead with a gunshot wound to the back of his head while camping at Playa La Selva in Luquillo, Puerto Rico. Reports describe the killing as ‘execution-style.’
Jules Santiago, a friend from Puerto Rico who knew him for two years, shared her shock upon hearing the news. She described feeling paralyzed and in disbelief, confirming the tragic news multiple times.
Wilkin grew up in Ohio before moving to Puerto Rico in 2024. Santiago shared a memory of them enjoying a night out, reflecting on the joyful moments they had together.
“When I found out, I went into complete shock. My thoughts were paralyzed,”Santiago told Fox News Digital.
Puerto Rican police reportedly have a person of interest in the case, and the FBI is assisting with the investigation. The case has drawn attention, as many describe Wilkin as a vibrant individual whose murder seems inexplicable.
A fundraiser aimed at uncovering the truth behind Wilkin’s death has already raised substantial amounts.
In reflecting on Wilkin’s character, Santiago remarked, “You usually hear about homicides tied to drugs, or people who weren’t on the right path. Never someone full of life like Tyler.”
