A tragic incident occurred at the newly opened In-N-Out Burger restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho, on Saturday afternoon. Authorities reported multiple fatalities following a shooting. Twin Falls Police Department Chief Matthew Hicks announced that while the exact number of fatalities remains unconfirmed, the suspected shooter was deceased at the scene.
Local news station KTVB stated that three individuals died and two were injured during the incident. Chief Hicks described the situation as chaotic, with hundreds present near the restaurant. Witnesses are currently being interviewed.
Emergency responders swiftly arrived, leading to road closures around the restaurant, including Perrine Memorial Bridge over the Snake River. Residents in nearby areas were instructed to shelter in place for their safety.
The FBI is en route to assist local law enforcement with the ongoing investigation. Chief Hicks assured the community that there is no longer a threat and authorities are working to identify the shooter and determine motives.
In-N-Out Burger announced plans to open the Twin Falls location earlier in the year, marking it as the city’s sole location, alongside new openings in California, Arizona, Utah, and Tennessee. Described by Chief Hicks as one of Southern Idaho’s busiest spots, the restaurant is temporarily closed according to the company’s website.
