Despite having two and a half years left in his term, President Donald Trump might only have a short window of three months to make substantial progress on his agenda. Podcaster Dave Rubin discussed this on “Hang Out with Sean Hannity,” highlighting the possibility of increased obstacles if Democrats gain power in Congress due to the midterm elections.
Rubin predicted that if the Republicans lose control of the House of Representatives, President Trump could face impeachment. However, he noted that it’s unlikely Trump would be removed from office, as the Senate would not have enough votes.
The potential for impeachment presents a significant threat to the Make America Great Again movement, as President Trump’s time in office nears its end. This period could initiate the conclusion of a decade marked by the MAGA movement’s influence since 2015.
Beyond an empowered opposition from Democrats, Rubin also cited concerns about infighting within conservative ranks. He warned of potential chaos, likening the situation to “rats jumping from a ship,” as some within the Republican Party might distance themselves from Trump.
In Washington, D.C., concerns are mounting among Republicans that Trump’s call to cancel the August recess could backfire. Vulnerable GOP incumbents fear the move could harm their chances in the midterms, as they would prefer to engage with voters in their home states instead of being confined to Capitol Hill.
Although Rubin acknowledged the cliché of labeling the upcoming midterms as “the most important election of all time,” he emphasized the critical nature of this election. He warned that the outcomes could potentially redefine the political landscape.
