Masked Intruder Raises Concerns in Affluent Boston Suburb

A well-to-do suburb near Boston, Massachusetts, is searching for a masked prowler. This individual’s suspicious activity was caught on camera outside a residence.

The Weston Police Department reported that surveillance footage from a private property captured a masked person with a bicycle helmet wandering around between 2:30 and 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 2. The police are requesting public assistance to further their investigation of this suspicious incident.

Authorities noted there is no evidence of the suspect entering the home. However, the total concealment, coupled with being on the premises during nighttime, raised suspicions. Police presume the individual’s intentions were not lawful, considering the circumstances.

Weston, known for its premium real estate and proximity to Boston, ranks as one of the state’s most exclusive towns. Police stated the figure appeared to come from a nearby trail, moving toward a Highland Street house with a flashlight.

Images from police show the person shining the flashlight at the home’s three-car garage. In another instance, the individual seems to carry a hunting chair from the house to the woods. Additional footage depicted the person wearing a bicycle helmet.

Weston Police Chief Denis Linehan expressed concerns to CBS Boston, commenting, “It’s creepy, there is no doubt about it.” He emphasized the level of risk associated with someone being masked on another’s property, especially during the early hours.

This suspicious activity has prompted authorities to urge local residents to review their surveillance or doorbell camera footage from those early morning hours.
