Lake County Fair: A Historic Celebration
The Lake County Fair in Crown Point enters its 174th year this weekend. Established in 1852, the fair runs until August 16 at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 889 S. Court St. Attendees can enjoy over 30 carnival rides, a car show, church services, live music, and games. Food vendors add to the experience. Entry is $8 for those aged 11 and older, while children 10 and under enter for free. Parking is complimentary. Karen Mills’ Munster Debut
Former pro basketball player turned comedian Karen Mills debuts at the Theatre at the Center in Munster on Friday. Known nationally for her 30-year comedy career, Mills previously performed at the Chicago Theatre. Her show begins at 7:30 p.m. at 1040 Ridge Road in Munster. Opening act Brian Hicks will join her. Touch of Dutch Festival
The DeMotte Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual “Touch of Dutch” Festival this Saturday at Spencer Park in DeMotte. Attracting 10,000 to 12,000 visitors, the event features a parade, car show, live entertainment, food and craft vendors, kids’ activities, a beer garden, and concludes with fireworks. Established in 1975, the festival celebrates the town’s Dutch heritage. Admission and shuttle services are free, with ample on-site handicap and elderly parking available. Canterbury Summer Theatre
The Canterbury Summer Theatre presents “Red, White and Tuna” in Michigan City through Saturday. This comedic play, focusing on a high school reunion in a small Texas town, mixes humor and satire.
