U.S. President Donald Trump recently engaged in discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House. This meeting took place on July 28, highlighting continued diplomatic efforts.
The Israeli government, led by Netanyahu, has turned down a proposed 15-point plan for Gaza. This plan was put forward by President Trump’s Board of Peace. Netanyahu stated that Israel will not consider withdrawal from Gaza until Hamas fully disarms.
Last month, Trump declared that there was significant progress in his initiative to conclude the conflict. This plan, initially agreed upon by both Israel and Hamas, had its origins in the ceasefire established the previous year.
Despite the ceasefire agreement, Israel has persisted with its military actions in Gaza. According to Trump, Hamas had controlled Gaza for nearly twenty years prior to the October 7, 2023, attack on Israel. This attack was a catalyst for the ongoing Gaza conflict. Trump also mentioned that Hamas had pledged to disarm as part of the peace process.
