His early performance was promising as he completed 10 of his first 11 passes, only missing a throw to tight end Harold Fannin which was dropped. After the fumble, Watson struggled, completing only one of his final four attempts.
Cleveland Browns coach Todd Monken expressed satisfaction with Watson’s performance, describing it as an incredible credit to his hard work and persistence. Despite not meeting the expectations of his $230 million guaranteed contract, Watson believed in his ability to play at a high level again, attributing his return to his dedication and the full offseason he had to prepare.
