Patrick Mahomes experienced the toughest season of his NFL career due to a torn ACL that ended his play early in Week 15 for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025. The Chiefs closed the season with a 6-11 standing, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
Despite these setbacks, Mahomes is still highly regarded by his NFL peers. He has been ranked as the No. 18 player in the 2026 NFL Top 100 list, a rating compiled through votes from active players in the league. The Chiefs highlighted this accolade on social media, stating, “The no. 18 spot belongs to no. 15,” referring to Mahomes’ jersey number.
Prior to his injury, Mahomes maintained a pass completion rate of 62.7%, amassing 3,587 yards with 22 touchdowns and 11 interceptions. He also achieved a personal best of 422 rushing yards, despite his shortened season.
Mahomes is progressing well in his rehabilitation and is anticipated to return for the Chiefs’ season opener on “Monday Night Football” against the Denver Broncos on September 14.
