Determination and Growth
Abby Inman, a standout outside hitter for Stevenson, demonstrated exceptional dedication from the end of her junior season. She began rigorous training at her school’s gym and took private lessons with coaches from Sky High volleyball club. Her efforts paid off as she joined the elite team, setting the stage for her senior season.
Stevenson coach Tim Crow highlighted her dominance during summer league play. Crow noted her as one of the best players, which could bolster the Patriots’ performance. Last year, the team finished second in the North Suburban Conference and reached the Class 4A sectional semifinals.
Impressive Stats and Leadership
Inman accumulated 328 kills and 270 digs, earning an all-conference selection and an all-state honorable mention. As team captain for the first time, she gained valuable experience, understanding team dynamics and learning the essence of leadership.

Her teammate Audri Linnane described Inman as reliable under pressure. Her aggressive style, smart placement, and powerful hits make her an integral part of the team.
The Transition to Volleyball
Inman’s journey in volleyball began after five years of playing tennis. She transitioned to the sport in seventh grade, drawn by the team environment and competitiveness.
Entering high school, Inman played on Stevenson’s freshman A team and evolved into a six-rotation outside hitter. She adjusted her approach, focusing more on winning rallies rather than sheer force, utilizing tips and roll shots.
Early Promise and Continued Improvement
Coach Crow recognized Inman’s potential early on, noting her focus as a freshman. Her continuous improvement over the years has made her one of the most focused players on the court.
Inman continues to refine her skills, contributing significantly to the team’s success.
