Callaway Golf released a second statement concerning the controversial advertisement created with Good Good, acknowledging that they approved the video before it was taken down. The advertisement featured Garrett Clark of Good Good, a YouTube golf channel with over 2 million subscribers, pushing Alexis Miestowski to the ground while promoting a special edition driver.
The ad opened with Miestowski reaching for a golf club, after which Clark ran towards her, pushed her down, and stated, ‘Do not touch my new driver.’ The video was filmed during the 2025 Tour Championship Creator Classic in Atlanta, Georgia.
Good Good reacted by removing the video from their social media and issued an apology, stating the video did not align with their brand values. Callaway followed with a statement expressing regret and appreciation to Good Good for addressing the issue. Chip Brewer, Callaway’s CEO, later admitted that they had approved the video, a mistake that should not have occurred.
‘Last week, Good Good Golf and Callaway posted a video to promote a co-branded driver. While the video was produced by Good Good, it was approved by Callaway prior to posting. That approval should never have happened. Mistakes were made, and we are taking the matter very seriously,’ Brewer’s statement began.
He further expressed the company’s sincere apology, stating the video’s content was inappropriate and not reflective of their values. Brewer emphasized that Callaway opposes any form of discrimination, domestic violence, or threatening behavior.
Callaway took swift action by removing the video and initiating internal and external investigations. Changes to their approval processes have been implemented to prevent such incidents in the future.
The PGA Tour also commented on the advertisement, highlighting golf’s role in promoting inclusivity and respect. It noted the video did not align with these principles.
Good Good, known for its partnership with the PGA Tour for the Good Good Championship this November in Austin, Texas, has yet to provide further comments. OutKick is monitoring the situation for any updates.
