A man, referred to by prosecutors as “the Defendant,” has been convicted for using stolen identification to fraudulently obtain nearly $284,000 in government benefits.
The individual claims his name is Carlos Ramon Obregon. However, his identity is disputed, as he appears in the Idaho federal court docket as FNU LNU—indicating “First Name Unknown,” “Last Name Unknown.”
During the court proceedings on August 26, 2026, a significant revelation emerged. Obregon’s mother testified that Carlos Ramon Obregon was her son who had tragically died at the age of 14. He was the victim of a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles in 1977.
