Michelle Monaghan showcased her adventurous side with a recent trip to Indonesia. At 50, the actress embraced the journey, sharing vivid vacation photos on Instagram. Monaghan displayed a colorful string bikini in the clear, blue waters, starting her Instagram post with a playful image of herself standing thigh-deep in the sea.

She sported a multicolored triangle bikini with gold accents, complemented by a large woven sun hat. The serene shoreline and hills provided a picturesque backdrop.

Monaghan continued to delight followers with more snapshots. One image captured her in a relaxed pose, hand resting on her hat, standing in turquoise waters. Her damp hair and the rocky coastline added to the scenic view.

In another photo, Monaghan stood further out from shore, arms resting in front of her, soaking in the surrounding beauty. The “Mission: Impossible III” star seemed to celebrate her getaway, arms raised, cup in hand, as a boat drifted in the distance.

Fans responded with enthusiasm in the comments, praising both Monaghan’s appearance and the vacation photos. “You look incredible,” one follower remarked. Another highlighted Indonesia as her “natural habitat.”

The trip reflected Monaghan’s second time visiting Indonesia. During an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” she recounted her family’s love for adventure and shared their journey to Indonesia. On her first visit, a surfing trip preceded her work on “The Whisper Man” with Robert De Niro, where she realized she had missed seeing Komodo dragons.

This discovery led her family to plan a return trip specifically to visit Komodo National Park. The decision exemplified Monaghan’s openness to embracing new experiences and her appreciation for the country.

Beyond travel, Monaghan remains committed to an active lifestyle, especially as she embraces midlife changes. In a May 2026 interview with Fox News Digital, she discussed her evolving approach to health after turning 50.

“Turning 50 has been an incredible milestone,” Monaghan said. She emphasized the significance of intentional living, focusing on meaningful activities and relationships. Strength training has taken center stage in her routine, reflecting her commitment to health. Monaghan shared that she trains three times a week, alongside walking, jogging, and Pilates when time permits.

“Now, as I am perimenopausal, taking care of my body is crucial,” she explained. Monaghan noted that Pilates provides an essential mix of flexibility and breathwork, complementing her strength training.
