The situation surrounding former TCU safety Jacob Fields intensified as he turned himself in at the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday. Fields faces charges of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury following an alleged altercation inside the TCU Horned Frogs’ locker room.
According to court records, Fields was released on a $50,000 bond after an initial hearing. His attorney, Cory Dubose, expressed frustration on social media over being denied access to this hearing. Dubose highlighted that the bond amount was predetermined, which complicated the defense process.
The altercation reportedly involved Fields and TCU wide receiver Dozie Ezukanma. Following the incident, Fields was dismissed from the football program for violating team rules. Previously recognized as the Conference USA Defensive player of the year while at Louisiana Tech, Fields had recently transferred to TCU.
