Former NFL cornerback Alphonso Smith Jr. was discovered deceased in a Florida community recently. This came just hours after posting a distressing message on social media. The post implied Smith experienced childhood abuse and felt possessed by demons.
“This is it,”
he wrote in his final line. A family member, wishing to remain anonymous, confirmed Smith’s age at 40 and his passing. The exact cause of death remains unconfirmed. While media outlet TMZ suggested suicide, OutKick could not independently confirm this claim.
Smith’s online message appeared to be a plea for assistance.
“Do not cry for me! I tried everything in my power to fight the demons behind the ones that someone put into ME!”
he expressed. He mentioned struggling with internal demons and acknowledged the impact on those around him.
“I have HURT so many! I needed help & did not get it! I am so sorry!”

Smith’s NFL career spanned 42 games with 11 starts, totaling 88 tackles and eight interceptions, yet he seemingly carried personal struggles throughout.
