Vice President JD Vance expressed his anticipation for an upcoming meeting with former President Joe Biden while visiting New York City for the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. He mentioned looking forward to engaging in ‘intense intellectual conversations’ with Biden and spending time with other former presidents.
Vance plans to visit Ground Zero on September 11, joining notable figures such as former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and their respective first ladies, Hillary Clinton and Laura Bush, for a remembrance ceremony.
Vance recently hosted his first press briefing since the departure of former press secretary Karoline Leavitt. He clarified that while he will attend the New York ceremony, President Donald Trump will honor the Pentagon attack victims in Washington, D.C. Trump’s attendance at a Pentagon ceremony aligns with the administration covering all three targeted locations from that tragic day.
The vice president mentioned that security concerns are not a factor in Trump’s decision to stay in the capital. Vance recalled the respectful nature of attending such ceremonies, expressing the importance for parents to share these historical moments with their children.
