Andrew Tate, a well-known figure, has been indicted in Romania for several serious crimes. These include trafficking minors, money laundering, and sexual offenses, according to recent reports.
Romania’s Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism detailed the allegations, including an accusation of exploiting a minor who was relocated to Luton, UK, for sexual exploitation and pornography purposes. Additionally, Tristan Tate, Andrew Tate’s brother, faces charges of attempting to obstruct justice and complicity.
The Romanian authorities did not specifically name the Tate brothers in their official statement. However, they referred to two British men from the same family, aged 39 and 38. Local media, including Romania’s national news agency Agerpres, identified the Tate brothers as the individuals in question.
Romanian lawyer Eugen Vidineac, representing the Tate brothers, stated their intent to scrutinize the indictment thoroughly. He emphasized their plan to challenge any evidential, procedural, or legal deficiencies through the judicial process, as reported by Reuters.
The Tate brothers are currently detained in the U.S., awaiting a decision on their extradition to Britain, where they face rape charges. They were apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Miami in July.
Both brothers have consistently denied any wrongdoing concerning legal actions in the UK and Romania. Their lawyer, Joseph McBride, expressed strong confidence in their innocence to Newsweek. He stated, “The world knows Andrew and Tristan are innocent.” He further asserted that a fair judge would validate their innocence and criticized the use of authorities in political actions, claiming, “America does not do Britain’s political dirty work.”
