Sununu will face the winner between four-term Representative Chris Pappas and socialist candidate Karishma Manzur in the general election. Sununu is looking to return to the Senate, following his previous terms as a congressman and senator. His campaign received an endorsement from President Donald Trump in February, despite Trump’s earlier disagreements with Sununu.

Sununu also expressed disagreement with the Trump administration’s trade policies with Canada, asserting the importance of maintaining strong trade relations with neighboring countries.
