On Tuesday, former Republican senator John E. Sununu and Democratic Representative Chris Pappas won New Hampshire’s Senate primaries with ease. Their victories pave the way for a competitive contest in November.
New Hampshire’s Senate race has not attracted as much attention as other critical races nationwide. Despite the significance of this race, the primaries lacked the intensity seen in other states. Notably, Republicans in Texas faced expensive and aggressive battles, while Democrats contended with similar challenges in Michigan.
Sununu, who was accompanied by his wife Kitty during his address to supporters in Manchester, emphasized his campaign’s focus on local issues. Pappas highlighted his commitment to addressing the needs of New Hampshire residents.
The upcoming election could have implications for Senate control. Both candidates are expected to campaign vigorously as November approaches.
