A shooting inside a home in Gaston County, North Carolina resulted in the deaths of two individuals, with two others critically injured on Thursday morning. Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire.
The Gaston County Police Department announced that officers arrived at the residence just before 8:45 a.m. Inside, they discovered four people suffering from gunshot wounds. Two were declared dead at the scene, while the other two were transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigation and Public Safety
Police found all four victims in a home on Forbes Road. They administered lifesaving measures until emergency personnel arrived. A person of interest has been identified, but further details have not been disclosed by the authorities.
Investigators believe the suspect and the victims had prior acquaintance, indicating the incident was isolated. Police officials confirmed there was no ongoing threat to the Gaston County community.
