Judge Judy Sheindlin, known for her long-running television presence, is set to step away from the camera. Her representative revealed that Sheindlin will leave her current role to focus on new interests. Sheindlin’s son, Adam Levy, will take the lead in the new show ‘Adam’s Law,’ which is scheduled to premiere in national syndication on September 14.
Although Judge Judy will retire from television once ‘Judy Justice’ concludes in October, she emphasized she is not retiring entirely. She stated she has various interests beyond television and looks forward to pursuing them.
Adam Levy, Sheindlin’s son, has a background in law, having graduated from Hofstra Law School and served as the District Attorney for Putnam County, New York. Levy also has experience working in private practice. This year, he ventured into television with the Prime Video show ‘Tribunal Justice.’ Judge Judy believes her son possesses the necessary skills to handle an unscripted show effectively.
Sheindlin herself graduated from New York Law School in 1965 and began her legal career as a prosecutor in juvenile crime, domestic violence, and child-abuse cases in 1972. Following her retirement from family court, her show ‘Judge Judy’ gained significant popularity, running for 25 seasons from 1996 to 2021. The show attracted around 10 million viewers at its peak.
“So many of the emails and letters I get are from women who watched me and had their daughters watch me,” Sheindlin mentioned in 2021, reflecting on the show’s impact, including inspiring viewers to take crucial life steps.
During an interview in 2022, Sheindlin’s granddaughter, Sarah Rose, shared insights on the guidance she received from her grandmother. One key piece of advice Sheindlin imparted was to define oneself and not let others dictate one’s identity. Rose appreciates this advice, which has bolstered her confidence and outlook on her journey.
Rose described Sheindlin as a supportive and loving grandmother, who despite her no-nonsense reputation, is often the first to provide assistance during dilemmas. Sarah Rose holds Sheindlin in high regard for her problem-solving skills, especially for family matters.
