Sean McVay’s Career with the Rams
Since Sean McVay became the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, he has experienced mostly winning seasons. Out of ten seasons, only one has been losing.
McVay seriously considered stepping away from the game after the 2022 season, following a 5-12 record. This was despite a Super Bowl victory in 2021 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
“I was ready to run away from coaching and hide behind a convenient narrative of some media opportunities,” he explained during an interview on “60 Minutes.”
McVay faced his struggles post-2022 and received a significant reality check from his wife, Veronika Khomyn. She reminded him of the leadership qualities he always valued, encouraging him to continue.
Rams’ Resurgence
The Rams rebounded from a difficult 2022 season with impressive performances, achieving two 10-7 seasons, and a 12-5 season by 2025, reaching the NFC Championship. Although they fell short to the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams proved resilient.
The team strengthened its roster by acquiring Myles Garrett from the Cleveland Browns and convincing Aaron Donald to come out of retirement. These moves aim to enhance the Rams’ chances of returning to the Super Bowl.
Although the Rams lost their Week 1 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in Australia, they are preparing for their home game against the New York Giants in Week 2.
