Juror’s Attorney Defends Client’s Decision in Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial

The attorney for the lone dissenting juror in Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial responded to claims about his client’s actions in court. Speaking with Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany, attorney Edward Paltzik stated that juror Michael P. Desronvil remained firm in his decision.

During an interview on Fox & Friends, McEnany asked Paltzik about reasonable doubt concerns after the jury foreperson accused Desronvil of not adhering to legal standards. Paltzik replied, “Michael had zero doubt.”

Paltzik emphasized that Desronvil had abundant evidence to support his stance. He described it as “a mountain of evidence.”

Desronvil stood alone after seven days of deliberations. Eleven other jurors were ready to find Clancy not criminally responsible for the deaths of her children. The trial ended in a mistrial declared by Judge William Sullivan on September 4.

Clancy confessed to killing her children, aged five years, three years, and eight months, at their Massachusetts home in January 2023. Her defense attributed her actions to postpartum psychosis. Prosecutors countered, asserting she was aware of her actions.

Desronvil maintained that the physical evidence and testimonies indicated Clancy’s awareness during the incident. Prosecutors have not yet declared if they will retry Clancy, who is scheduled to return to court on September 29.
