Trump Calls for Investigation of Alleged ‘Paid Protesters’

On Sunday, President Donald Trump launched a series of posts on Truth Social, urging investigations into what he described as paid protesters. This reaction followed the spread of footage showing a woman participating in multiple demonstrations.

Trump highlighted social media posts by conservative journalist Emily Miller. Miller claimed that the same woman appeared at different protests, months apart, related to two projects associated with Trump. The first location was the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, and the second was the proposed triumphal arch site.

The administration completed the renovation of the Reflecting Pool earlier this year. The proposed 250-foot arch would be located near the Arlington Memorial Bridge, positioned between the Lincoln Memorial and Arlington National Cemetery.

Neither Trump nor Miller provided evidence to support the claim that the woman was paid to attend the demonstrations, nor did they identify any potential sponsors.

In one of his Truth Social posts, Trump expressed gratitude to Miller, stating that there are many such people all over who try to disrupt significant projects, developments, and even policies. He claimed Miller had caught the woman REDHANDED.

Trump has made similar accusations previously, particularly concerning the June 2025 protests in Los Angeles, where he labeled some demonstrators as paid insurrectionists and paid troublemakers. He has also claimed that protests against his administration’s immigration policies included professional or paid agitators.

This is an evolving story, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
