Accusations and Arraignment
Guojun Xuan and Silvia Zhang from California are under accusation for misleading surrogate mothers and subsequently bringing up the children in harmful conditions. Their arraignment took place in Pasadena, California, on Tuesday.
Surveillance and Alleged Abuse
Authorities report that the couple used a network of 32 surveillance cameras in their mansion in the Los Angeles area. These cameras provided them with live CCTV feeds to monitor more than a dozen children born via surrogacy. According to the allegations, nannies carried out severe punishments while under the couple’s watch.
The situation has raised concerns about unethical practices in surrogacy arrangements and child welfare. Law enforcement agencies are investigating further into the incidents to ascertain the full scope of the alleged abuse.
