Controversial Trump Statue Unveiled at European Parliament

A striking gold statue of U.S. President Donald Trump has been unveiled in the European Parliament building in Strasbourg, France. This artwork, crafted by Danish artist Jens Galschiot, is a 23-karat gold statue depicting Trump naked, perched on the shoulders of a smaller man. It has been provocatively titled “The Orange Plague.”

Under the imposing 2.5-meter statue is an inscription: “I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.” This quote is attributed to “The King of Injustice.”

Galschiot, on his website, elaborates on his intentions, stating that “Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rule-based world order, democratic values, and our collective efforts in addressing the climate crisis. It is crucial to confront this issue and unite against such harmful influences.”

The statue will remain in Strasbourg until Thursday, after which it will travel to the COP31 UN Climate Conference in Turkey in November. It has graced previous venues, including the COP30 UN Climate Summit in Brazil, the Munich Security Conference in Germany, the Rebild Festival marking the 250th Anniversary of the U.S., and the Stand with Greenland Demonstrations in Denmark.

The White House has been contacted for comment. This story is still developing, and more updates are anticipated.
