Empire State Building Celebrates Fox News Channel’s 30th Anniversary

The New York City skyline showcased a patriotic scene on Thursday night. The Empire State Building was illuminated in red, white, and blue to mark Fox News Channel’s 30th anniversary.

Celebration with ‘FOX & Friends’
Co-hosts of ‘FOX & Friends,’ namely Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, Brian Kilmeade, and Lawrence Jones, gathered at the renowned Empire State Building Observation Deck. They participated in the ceremonial light switch event and enjoyed a special tour of the iconic structure.

‘Since its inception in 1996, Fox News has evolved from a fledgling cable news network into a fixture in American television news. Over the decades, the network has covered significant stories and events, with contributions from generations of journalists, anchors, correspondents, producers, and teams,’ said Empire State Building General Manager Dan Rogoski before inviting the hosts to speak.

Steve Doocy, one of the network’s original employees since its launch on October 7, 1996, expressed gratitude to Fox Corporation Chairman Emeritus Rupert Murdoch, Fox Corp Executive Chair and CEO Lachlan Murdoch, FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott, and President and Executive Editor Jay Wallace. ‘As one of the original people at Fox News Channel based here in Midtown, we are delighted that the Empire State Building would honor us,’ Doocy stated.

Host Reflections
Earhardt reflected on the journey from ‘humble beginnings’ to participating in such a memorable event. ‘I love ‘Sleepless in Seattle,’ and I’ve never been up on the… It reminds me of my 10-year-old self,’ she remarked.

Brian Kilmeade’s Remarks
Despite battling laryngitis, Kilmeade humorously compared the scene to a different movie, ‘Elf.’ He praised Fox News as a fantastic platform that encourages personal development and authenticity. ‘They hire you to be you. Anyone you like or dislike on-air is genuinely themselves off-air,’ Kilmeade mentioned.

He expressed his joy and gratitude for being part of the network. ‘I’m thrilled to be here. Thanks to Rupert Murdoch, who opened up the wallet. Lachlan Murdoch is equally impressive, and Suzanne Scott is unbelievably adept under pressure. Jay Wallace is a great success story at Fox, rising from the bottom to the top,’ he added.

Resident Reflections
Jones acknowledged Suzanne Scott’s significant role in his career development. Being at the anniversary ceremony was a ‘dream come true’ for him. He praised Rupert Murdoch’s foresight in finding an untapped audience thirty years ago, and Lachlan Murdoch’s ongoing commitment.

‘Without Suzanne Scott and Jay Wallace providing me opportunities a decade ago, I wouldn’t be standing here in a building I once only saw in movies,’ Jones shared.

The Fox News team then illuminated the Empire State Building with the network’s signature colors.
