On Monday night, Disneyland security informed the Anaheim Police Department of two suspicious bags left near the main entrance to the park. One of the bags contained marbles and visible wires, while the second had duct tape and sharp objects protruding from it. The report was made around 9:50 p.m., as confirmed by Sgt. Eric Anderson.
Police immediately took action, evacuating guests from the park and directing them to an alternative exit. The Orange County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad was then called to examine the items. By shortly before midnight, the bomb squad determined that the bags posed no threat and did not contain any explosives.
Sgt. Anderson mentioned that the bags seemed purposefully planted to appear suspicious. Authorities are currently investigating to identify those responsible for leaving the bags.
