Lamar Jackson’s Ankle Injury Puts Ravens QB in Doubt for Week 6

Baltimore Ravens’ quarterback Lamar Jackson may miss his second consecutive game due to an ankle injury. The team has not yet officially ruled out the two-time NFL MVP, but prospects are not favorable as they prepare for their Week 6 matchup against the Cleveland Browns.

Jackson was absent from practice on Thursday, and Jeff Zrebiec from The Athletic suggested that the 29-year-old’s status for Sunday is clear. The Ravens lead the AFC North with a 4-1 record, closely followed by the Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, and Pittsburgh Steelers, all at 3-2.

The upcoming game in Cleveland is Baltimore’s first of two divisional matchups, with a Week 7 home contest against the Bengals to follow. Baltimore’s only loss this season occurred in Week 2 against the now 1-4 New Orleans Saints.

Jackson, a Louisville alumnus, and four-time Pro Bowler has dealt with injuries over the past few seasons. He missed five games in both 2021 and 2022 and four last year. This season, he boasts a league-leading passer rating of 119.6. Over four games, he has completed 68 out of 96 passes, accounting for 967 yards, six touchdowns, and one interception. Jackson has also contributed with 19 rushes for 144 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Tyler Huntley, who played with the Ravens from 2020 to 2023, stands as a familiar backup option. After a stint with the Miami Dolphins in 2024, he rejoined Baltimore in August 2025. The 28-year-old undrafted quarterback has a career completion rate of 67.1%, with 3,476 passing yards, 15 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 32 regular season games, including 17 starts.

Last week, Huntley led the Ravens to an overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons during “Sunday Night Football.” He completed 24 of 32 passes for 201 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
