President Donald Trump recently led a campaign rally at the Rock Hill Sports and Event Center in South Carolina on October 29, 2026. During this rally, he reflected on his 2016 campaigns when he compared the size of his rallies to those of Vermont independent Senator Bernie Sanders. Trump remarked, “We have the biggest rallies ever in history,” and added a reflective note by saying, “You will never see what we’ve done. You’ll never see it happen again.”
Trump’s visit aimed to support Senate candidates Darline Graham in South Carolina and Michael Whatley in North Carolina, both of whom he endorsed. Despite a month full of midterm rallies, these candidates struggled to generate enthusiasm among Republican voters. This campaign marked one of the last in a series of over 25 events in October, mainly in Republican-dominated states facing political challenges.
The rallies not only aimed to support Republican candidates but also served as a continuation of Trump’s signature style of large, enthusiastic gatherings. Trump urged attendees to “pretend I’m on the ballot” as he emphasized the importance of defending his achievements, such as tax cuts and stronger border policies. His Greenville, NC rally featured familiar topics, including his affinity for tariffs which he dubbed “my favorite word.” He humorously suggested this word had made the nation wealthier.
Trump introduced new themes, including humorous references to Ohio Senator Jon Husted’s physique, which became a crowd pleaser. Although no substantial evidence supports the claim, Trump asserted that Husted’s campaign saw a significant boost following these comments.
The campaign trail included promises such as the $5,000 “Trump dividend” for all American adults if Republicans controlled the House and Senate. While the offer came with offhand remarks about Mar-a-Lago’s costs, it resonated with loyal supporters.
Among Trump’s devoted followers are individuals like Blake Marnell, known as “Mr. Wall,” who frequently appears at these rallies adorned in a suit symbolizing Trump’s border wall promise. Cindy New, a three-time Trump voter from North Carolina, attended a rally for the first time, expressing her desire to experience Trump’s showmanship.
Even as Trump’s time as a central political figure winds down, he finds motivation in the crowd’s dedication. “There’s a lot of love in those rooms,” he noted at a recent Oval Office event. Although the Republican National Committee initially announced cancellations for rallies in Iowa and Kansas, the events were quickly reinstated due to Trump’s commitment to personal engagement.
As Trump concluded a rally in Corpus Christi, Texas, he emphasized the uniqueness of his rallies, urging supporters to secure a win on November 3rd. Though facing exhaustion, Trump combined fond memories with the determination to energize his base, as shown in Daytona Beach, Florida. “My voice is operating at about 49.2%,” he quipped, acknowledging the toll of his 28-day rally streak.
