James Handy, an actor renowned for roles in films like Jumanji and Top Gun: Maverick, was reportedly killed by his girlfriend’s son this week, according to police.

Incident Details

The Los Angeles Police Department reported that officers responded to a scene in the 19200 block of Erwin Street on Wednesday morning. A 911 call was received with the caller stating: “I am the son of man, I just killed the man of sin.”

Upon arrival, officers found Handy, age 81, unconscious in the front yard with a stab wound to the chest. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Suspect Information

The police identified the suspect as 44-year-old Michael Gledhill from Tarzana. Investigators said Gledhill flagged down officers upon their arrival and admitted to being the person they were searching for. It was noted that Gledhill lived at the residence with his mother, who was Handy’s girlfriend.

Gledhill was arrested and charged with murder. He was booked into the Van Nuys Jail with bail set at $2 million.
